Sexual Harassment
Mandatory Sexual Harassment Training (AB 1825) and
California Supreme Court Case
The California Supreme Court has held in a broad-ranging decision that co-workers may now file lawsuits seeking significant damages by claiming that their employment situations have been “disadvantaged” by a “personal relationship” between other co-workers. A review of this case brings with it the reminder that recent state legislation mandates that all California employers with 50 or more employees provide two (2) hours of classroom and/or interactive sexual harassment training and education for all supervisory employees every two (2) years. New supervisory employees must be trained within 6 months of their hire date.
This California law requires training conducted by those with expertise in the prevention of harassment, discrimination and retaliation. Since our firm exclusively handles all matters in the field of labor and employment law, and we have successfully represented countless employers in the Coachella Valley in every aspect of the field including sexual harassment, discrimination and retaliation cases, we are more than qualified to conduct this training.
We offer a comprehensive sexual harassment training seminar which is available to supervisory staff that will ensure compliance with the new legislation and case law developments.
General Employment
One of our most popular seminars is our general employment seminar. In 90 minutes, we review the current top 10 employment issues and anything else an employer should know. This seminar is perfect for people in management and supervisory positions as it gives an overview of employment law without being overwhelming.
New laws for the New Year
At the beginning of each year, new laws go into effect that could have a serious impact on employers. Our firm provides a seminar specifically designed to educate employers of these new laws so they can ensure their policies, procedures and business practices are in compliance with those new laws.
